Jan Sensier

Jan is Chief Executive of Engaging Communities Staffordshire, a community interest company set up to deliver Healthwatch Staffordshire, and to be the voice of the public in the delivery of public services. Healthwatch Staffordshire has been heavily involved in major health and social care issues including the Trust Special Administration and dissolution processes at Mid Staffs, the Keogh review at Burton, and the Local Health Economy Review.   

Prior to this work, Jan spent nearly 25 years as a civil servant, working initially in a number of senior management positions within Jobcentre plus and then as a Director at the Government Office for the East Midlands, working across 11 government departments. 

Jan was also Executive Director for East Midlands Councils, the representative body for local government, supporting the political leadership and leading on various projects including establishing a network for Health and Well Being Board Chairs. 

Healthwatch Staffordshire won the “Outstanding Local Healthwatch Team of the Year” award 2014, and the 2015 award for “Making a Difference in Social Care”.

Jan is a member of the Health and Well Being Board for Staffordshire.
